This tiny jar of coconut oil traveled 17,834 miles to New Jersey from the Philippines. That means 1,070,040 gallons of gas were burned on that flight. Makes you rethink making that jerk chicken and coconut oil pasta for dinner.

In all fairness, no one is trying to produce coconuts in New Jersey, though many say that you have to be nuts to live there. And, if you stopped importing all foods, that would affect the economies of other countries.
